Coffee Table Essentials | Chairish

Hi everyone,

A coffee table is something that everyone needs in their house, whether you live in a small flat, a house or a big mansion. There are so many styles of coffee tables that it could get overwhelming to find the perfect one. But, I am here today to help you a little bit.

The first thing you will need to do is decide from which (online) store you want to buy your new coffee table. I suggest the store Chairish, as they have a wide variety and there is definitely something for everyone. Have a look at their coffee tables page and I bet you will find the perfect one for you!

I also browsed a bit on their site and I found my perfect coffee table, here it is:

This is the 1960s Danish Modern Teak Coffee Table, I am a big fan of simple pieces and this table perfectly fits within my taste. I also love the colour of this wood, it would look so gorgeous in my interior.

Now, you can’t leave your new coffee table looking bare, you want to put a few beautiful items on it. Here are my suggestions, I browsed some websites and found lovely pieces for my table.

In a way, I would want to protect this beautiful table, so I would opt for some sort of tablecloth. This crochet one is gorgeous:

Next, I would put some candles on my table, as it gives a very cosy feeling. If you can, get some candles from Yankee Candle, they smell divine. Here’s my favourite scent:

Sweets, cookies or some sort of treat should always be on a coffee table. And why shouldn’t you put them on a beautiful tray. This one from Zara would contrast beautifully on the coffee table that I chose:

And last, but not least, a plant would make the whole lay-out of the coffee table complete. I think a cactus is very cute, so I would choose a little one to put on my table. You can get some from Ikea:

I hope you enjoyed this little post and got some inspiration from it for your own perfect coffee table and essentials. Do not forget to check out Chairish and have a look at their beautiful furniture.

Favourite Nail Polishes At The Moment

Hi everyone,

Nail polish is, if I remember correctly, one of the first ‘makeup’ products that I started using. It took me a lot, and I mean a hell of a lot, of time to perfect the ability to paint my nails. And now, it has become an even bigger obsession and I probably own around 40 bottles of different nail polishes!

I want to show you the nail polishes and brands that I love and that I like using a lot. So here we go!

IMG_2574These first nail polishes are by the brand O.P.I., I have loved that brand for a long time and they never disappoint me.

This is the ‘Nordic Collection’ by O.P.I., from Fall-Winter 2014.

The colours from left to right are:

  • My Dogsled is a Hybrid
  • Do you Have this Color in Stock-Holm?
  • My Voice is a Little Norse
  • How Great is Your Dane?

A+ for creativity on the names!

IMG_2575Now this is hands down my favourite brand of nail polishes, too bad I only have 2 bottles. This stays on my nails for one to two weeks, without chipping. Usually I get a total wear of three days with other polishes, maximum. Sephora has really outdone themselves with this, big love for Formula X!

The colours are:

  • Heart-Stopping
  • Monumental

Everyday Makeup Products

It is time that I worked on my blog again. So today I’m showing you the makeup products that I use almost every single day.

Let’s get started with concealers.

This is the Catrice Camouflage cream in the shade 010 Ivory. I use this concealer to hyde blemishes and dark spots on my face. I don’t use this one under my eyes, because it’s very creamy and gets in the lines very fast.

I bought this in Belgium in ‘de Kruidvat’, I’m not sure if it’s for sale in countries other than Belgium and The Netherlands. The price is around € 3-4, which is great because it will last you a very long time.

This is the concealer that I use under my eyes. Now I know why so many people rave about this product, it’s simply amazing. You get great coverage and it doens’t set in your fine lines. I have two shades, the lighter one is number 1 ‘Fair’ which I use in the winter and the slightly darker one is number 2 ‘Light’ which will be my concealer for summer.

My Shoe Collection, part 1!

Today I decided I wanted to share my passion for shoes with you, so I’m going to show you my shoe collection. The quote by Coco Chanel is like a life motto to me, good shoes are a must for me. You can tell by a women her clothing and shoes if she has put some thought in her appearance, but we don’t need to look like supermodels these days, everyone is pretty in their own way.

Now enough with the rambling, let us begin with the first pair of shoes.

This is my first pair of sneakers, just simple black converse. I decided six months ago that I also wanted the experience the hype behind the all stars, as I saw everyone walking around with them. I have to say that these shoes are not the best I’ve ever had, to begin with they are way overpriced, they retail for about 65/70 euros. But I decided I still wanted to try them, good luck that I didn’t have to walk a lot the first time I wore them, my feet were killing me and some of my toes were bleeding… Now after six months the shoes aren’t as bad as before, but I only use them to go to University or to work with.

Now we are talking, these are my beloved Vans. As you can see I have two pairs of them, the left ones are an old school red version and the right ones are a more green/blue type. The red Vans are perfect for in winter, as they are thicker than the originals. I bought them while I was in London and for a complete bargain, I only paid 28,50 pounds. The green Vans are made of a thinner material and are likely to get more dirty, but they are fine for in summer and look cute when you have a nice tan.
